The trip was a long way, all the way from Munic, we flew to Dar es salaam in Tanzania. Then we took a catamaran to the magical and spicy island of Zanzibar which I had already visited for the first time in 2010 and experienced the tranquility which is only synoymous to this island.

And as usual more was to come as it is here that the musical festival called Sauti za Busara (sounds of wisdom) was taking place between the 13th and the 16th of February. Truly this was the highlight of my entire trip this time.

The festival was magical just as the island. Many bands from all over Africa played every day and night for the 4 days in front of the splendid backdrop of the Old Fort in Stone Town City, the capital of the island. To add more flavor to the occasion the african bands were complimented by bands from Switzerland, England, Germany and Austria. Later in the evenings we danced widly to sounds from Puerto Rico and reggae music. The crowd was a mosaic of different cultures, nations, races and religions.

My sincere appreciation goes to the organisers of the festival, the volunteers, the audience and most of all to the beautiful people of this magical and spicy island of Zanzibar for this unforgetable experience. Truly it was the most breathtaking festival of all that I have attended.

Many thanks to my friend Doris who did join me during travelling all over in Tanzania. I do appreciate every single moment.

Special thanks to my "babu" Marley who did helped me out with the translation.

I hope you did enjoy the pictures.
